In Chinese culture there is story about crabs in bucket. In this bucket of crabs all these crabs are climbing and moving around, but they stay inside of the bucket without any at all climbing out. In truth, there are crabs climbing out but the other crabs just pull them back into the bucket.
It is natural to grow, to try things, to discover and learn. Call it “being humble” or “tall poppy syndrome” many people pull others back into the bucket. What gives others the impulse to pull the others back into the bucket? The framing of this question is important, let's try a broader question: what is there outside of the bucket. Do these crabs realize it it is the ocean. No matter what the others believe everyone is born a creator and to block is learned and can be released.
Trying new things for adults can feel uncomfortable and this is because adults have many times forgotten what they really are; creators. Playing is what children call it, grown people call it calculated risk or changing careers. The status quo is to follow along, but because this doesn't flow naturally pressure builds up in the mind-body-spirit.
